As the core principle of mathematics learning, the philosophy of mathematics is the critical path for students to develop good cognitive structure and mathematical literacy.This article is based on the goal of "mathematical thought" in the "four basics" proposed in "Teaching Standards Of Obligatory Tutorship"(2011). With Jiangsu teaching material as an example, the article mainly demonstrates and analyses three questions as follows:1)Why applying mathematical thought during teaching 2)Which mathematical thinking methods are contained in teaching materials in Elementary School Mathematics 3).How to apply mathematics thinking methods efficiently during mathematics learning.Through anaylsing the references about mathematics thinking methods, this article elebrates from the aspects of both theory and practice.In theory, with clear definition of contents and main characteristics of mathematics thinking methods, it demonstrates the value of mathematics thinking methods and concludes some common types, including classification, induction, deduction, abstraction, transformation, symbolic-graphic combination and modeling. In practice, it uses concrete cases to summarize the strategies of applying mathematics thinking methods from thoughts of classification, symbolic-graphic combination, abstraction, modeling, reasoning and symbolication.At last, this article analyses some factors that affect applying mathematics thinking methods in Elementary School Mathematics Teaching in current situation.
