After America educationist Dewey proposed "students, activities, experience" as the center of the modern educational ideas to replace the traditional theory which used "classroom, teachers,textbook" as the center claimed by Herbart,the modern education in the educational circles began to step the stage of history and the "student-centered" learning concept become the mainstream of the era.In China, with the development of The new curriculum reform, local schools have carried out the reform for the traditional teaching. The successful examples are "Three Three Six"teaching mode of Shandong’s DuLangKou middle school,Yangsi middle school’s the teaching mode of "learning before teaching, teaching according to learning", Yanzhou Yizhong’s “A circular big classroom" mode. They all use the Guidance case as the carrier of teaching activities to ensure the student’s subject status.Changing the "Teacher-centered" point of the traditional teaching to the "student-centered" view of the modern educational teaching. The purpose is to improve the efficiency of the teaching and develop students’ capability of autonomic learning.The research mainly adopts the literature investigation method, the method of questionnaire survey, interviewing method and content analysis. Through investigating students and interviewing teachers of the junior middle school which use the Guidance case and analyzing the content of the Guidance case, the author draws the status of the application of the Guidance case in math teaching of junior high school. The status are as follows:On the understanding of the Guidance case: Most of the students have the right and objective evaluation about the Guidance case, but there are some students think the Guidance case is the alternatives of workbook or job. A few of students like using the Guidance case, but most students neither love nor hate it.On the compilation and Design: The Guidance case worked out by the teachers,Hardly is not everyone involved in doing it. Most of the Guidance case include the part of the guidance of learning method as the fusion form embodied in the knowledge and the capacity.On the implementation of the Guidance case: Due to students’ personality and cognitive level, a few of students are unable to integrate into the group discussion. In the process of group discussion, the frequency of the girls’ participation is higher than the boys’. Compared with the girl, the Guidance case is more in line with the boy’s learning methods and habits.On The effectiveness of the Guidance case: Most of the students think the Guidance case promoted their abilities of autonomous learning, learning efficiency and achievement, learning enthusiasm. there are also some students thought that these four aspects didn’t change.Based on the above situation, the author summarizes the teaching experience of the application in junior high school’s mathematics: The part of exploring the new knowledge follows the cognitive and focuses on exploration. The shortcomings are: The compilation subject of the Guidance case is single, only containing the teacher, without the student participating. In the implementation process,the Guidance case haven’t completely transformed“teacher-centered”view to “student-centered”point.Finally, according to the relevant problems, the author proposed a number of suggestions for the school, the teacher and the student.To some extent, this research reflects the situation of math teaching applicating the Guidance case in junior high school. It provides some references for effectively using the Guidance case.
