Research On Rehabilitation Of Disabled People In Pukou District, Nanjing

Community-based rehabilitation for the disabled is just to solve the problem of the increasing number of the disabled persons, and the rehabilitation demand is difficult to meet. Community-based rehabilitation have the advantages of cheap, wide coverage, easy to get, which hospital rehabilitation and institution rehabilitation don’t have. Community-based rehabilitation for the disabled is a comprehensive rehabilitation mode, which including medical rehabilitation, education rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and social rehabilitation. Many countries have benefited from community-based rehabilitation.The development of community-based rehabilitation in our country was just started, has not yet formed a set of mature development mode, which has a lot of problems, basically in its infancy. In this paper, three kinds of research methods were used, literature analysis, field survey. First of all, literature search and filtering analysis; Second, select the disabled staff in parts of the community in Taishan Sub-District, and Yanjiang Sub-District in Nanjing Pukou District, make some questionnaires and interviews, to understand the medical rehabilitation, education rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and social rehabilitation of Nanjing Pukou District about the disabled community-based rehabilitation work, and the problems in current situation of the development of all aspects; Finally, according to the new public service theory, the social support network theory and empowerment theory, respectively, at the government level, social level and the disabled themselves level targeted improvement suggestions were put forward.Community-based rehabilitation for the disabled needs not only national government increased public services, but also the whole society to build social support network, and the disabled adjust their moods, coordinate with rehabilitation actively. Now, government purchase services has become an important way of provide social services, and community social organizations are playing an important role in providing community service. Strengthen the government purchase of the disabled community rehabilitation service, and improve community-based social organizations to provide the important role of social support for the disabled, which is of great significance to the development of the cause of the disabled community-based rehabilitation. So the future development community-based rehabilitation mode of Nanjing Pukou District is "Government purchase public service and developing social organizations for the disabled".
