Since "reform and opening up" in 1980s,with the continuous enhancement of China'scomprehensive national strength the level of communication between Chinese and foreignsculptors has been deepened,and various kinds of sculpture works have been created.Thedevelopment of sculpture art presents an unprecedented prosperity.However,omitting the surfaceflashy,it is revealed that domestic sculptors blindly imitate the Western sculpture style,resultingin the current sculpture works intermingled.The trend of utilitarianism in sculpture industry hasalso resulted in a large number of sculpture works,but the number of works with real wideinfluence is relatively small,and the corresponding sculpture theory research has not been able tobe developed at the same time.Sun Zhenhua,in his summary of sculpture art at the end of the yearon 2016,mentioned that it is necessary to supplement the course of western modernism.Thisshows that under the background of the present era,the Chinese native sculpture system has notreally been established.Also need more sculptors with profound aesthetic cultivation,respondingto the cultural demands of the new era,rooted in Chinese traditional excellent aesthetic thinking,boldly integrated with the aesthetic requirements of the times,widely put forward personal views.It is of great significance to popularize the new period,to establish and perfect the sculpturesystem with Chinese characteristics,and to lay a solid theoretical foundation for the leapfroggingdevelopment of Chinese sculpture art in the new period.The research of this paper is to take the background of the times after the reform and opening upas the time node,based on the contemporary sculpture teaching system,try to sort out theessence of the traditional Chinese sculpture language and traditional aesthetic thought,comparethe similarities and differences between the western sculpture language and the traditional Chineseaesthetic thought,and find the right fit point in the different aesthetic differences.And providesthe reference method for the contemporary Chinese sculpture language system consummation andthe development.
