Research On The Expansion Of Sculpture Language By New Materials In The Context Of Contemporary Art

With the development of contemporary society and technology,artists have explored the possibilities of sculpture through the use of a wide range of materials and different art forms.In addition to natural materials,man-made materials such as fiber,glass,plastic and even the use of new technologies to incorporate sound,light and electricity into contemporary sculpture.Sculpture has subverted people’s traditional cognition of "carving" and "plastic",and the latitude of sculpture language has been continuously expanded.In the context of contemporary art,the integration of new era elements and high-tech materials makes the expansion and change of traditional art in form a new way to realize the externalization of artists’ inner feelings through materials.Material,as the medium of sculpture art presentation,has attracted much attention in the practice and theoretical research for a long time.First of all,this paper takes the context of contemporary art as the starting point of the study,and analyzes the various factors of the application of new materials in contemporary art from four aspects,namely,the change of times,technological innovation,multicultural integration and the change of exhibition space.Secondly,it analyzes the forms of new materials used in contemporary art creation with examples,and tries to explore the innovation of new materials in the language of contemporary sculpture from different perspectives.Finally,combined with the research of this paper,the following problems are solved: 1.Factors of language development of contemporary sculpture materials;2.The close connection between sculpture and new materials in the context of contemporary art;Third,how the artist,as the subject of creation,shows his unique sculpture language through the transformation of sculpture materials.Further research on sculpture materials provides new ideas.
