| The contemporariness of contemporary photography is embodied in thediversification of its subjects,media and humanistic values.In the artistic creation ofcontemporary photography,based on the continuous upgrading of technology,photographers pay close attention to the way of redefining the role of languageelements in photography,so as to achieve more ideal visual and conceptualexpression of photography works.Though letters and characters have independentconceptual systems and play an irreplaceable role in information transmission insemiotics,they still can be used as elements for creation,and purposefully broughtto the visual aesthetic field of viewers.Starting with Chinese and Westernphotographers of works about letters and characters,this paper makes an attempt toanalyze the trend of functional changes in the elements of letters and charactersduring different periods and the development direction of photography reflected inthis trend,and interpret the results and inspiration obtained by using letters andcharacters as a medium to create contemporary photography works. |
