In this essay the author compares the sculptures those made by sculptors and painters.By analyzing the differences in different historical contexts,the author finds a tendency that the boundary between sculptors’ work and painters’ work gradually disappeared in their features;instead,they share the similarity as the "artist’s work".The author puts his emphasis on the subject-painters’ sculpture,by analyzing different individual’s work or a specific art movement in history.He points out the importances and meanings of those works in their contemporaries.The sculptor’s sculpture and the painter’s sculpture are two lines to study in history,by comparing the differences and the similarities he is able to observe the develop-ment of sculpture from a different perspective.In conclusion,the author points out the unconventional creativity from painters who work on sculpture promoted the development of sculpture in early mod-ern time,which helped to expand the boundary of the medium and inspired sculptors in their own revolutions. |
