From the perspective of valence,the study of the influence of emotion on attention span found that positive emotions can broaden the range of attention,while negative emotions narrow the scope of attention.However,the emotional motivation dimension model considers that the intensity dimension of emotion is the main factor that affects the range of attention.Furthermore,most researches use spatial cue paradigm on attention range,it's an outward orientation that allows you to be selected in a predetermined area,but there aren't too many pre-clues available in many situations of real life.Accordingly,this study is based on the emotional motivation dimension model theory to investigate the influence mechanism of emotion on the range of attention in the absence of spatial cues.The first experiment investigates the distribution of attention resources in different spatial levels under different valence without spatial clues.Based on the first experiment,the second experiment introduces motivation variables to investigate the influence of emotion on attention range.Experiment 1 was designed as confirmatory experiment of 2(mood types: positive and negative)×3(three levels of target stimulation: diameter angle 3.2°,6.4°and 9.6°,respectively).By inducing the emotions of the subjects and recording the task response of the subjects,the images were used to investigate whether the spatial distribution of visual attention resources was affected by emotion.The results showed that :(1)the main effect of emotional type was significant,and the positive emotion group was significantly larger than the negative emotion group.It shows that positive emotions expand attention span,while negative emotions narrow the focus.(2)the diameter of the Angle of horizontal main effect significantly,reaction time on the three levels of performance is: the level 3.2°< level 6.4°< level 9.6°,It shows that pay attention to the allocation of resources in space "around-center " regressive model.(3)The interaction of emotional types and perspective levels was not significant,It shows that emotion has little effect on spatial distribution of attention resources,and attention resources have good stability in visual space.On the basis of experiment 1,experiment 2 introduces the variable of motivation.A hybrid experiment of 2(mood types: positive and negative)×2(motivation degree:high motivation and low motivation)×3(three levels of target stimulation: diameter angle 3.2°,6.4°and 9.6°)was designed.By matching the valence and arousal of emotional stimuli,the effect of different motivation levels on attention span wasexamined in positive and negative emotions.The results show that: under positive emotion:(1)The main effect of the motivation is significant,and the reaction time of the high approach is significantly less than that of the low approach group.It indicates that under the high approach motivation,the subjects are more focused,and the scope of attention is narrowed.Under the low approach motivation,the subjects' attention is more diffuse and the scope is broadened.(2)The main effect of visual angle level is significant,so the pattern of attention resource allocation is not changed at different approaching level.(3)The interaction between approach motivation and visual angle level was significant.Under the condition of high approach motivation,there was a significant difference between level 3.2°and level 6.4°,but there was no significant difference between level 6.4°and level 9.6°,but under the condition of low approach motor,the difference was significant.There was no significant difference between level 3.2°and level 6.4°,but there was significant difference between level 6.4°and level 9.6°.It shows that under the same visual angle level,the subjects with high approach motivation level are more focused,the range of focus is smaller,and the spatial level of small range is more distinct.However,the distribution of attention resources is more diffused at the level of low approach motivation,so there is a clear distinction between the spatial levels of large scale.Under negative emotion:(1)There was no significant difference in task response time between high avoidance motivation group and low avoidance motivation group.It indicates that the degree of evasive motivation has little effect on the range of attention.(2)The main effect of perspective level is significant,and the pattern of attention resource allocation is unchanged under different evasion levels.(3)The interaction between avoidance motivation and visual angle level is not significant.It indicates that the difference between the size and space level is not affected by the level of evasive motivation.To sum up,in the attention mode without spatial clues,emotions do have an influence on visual attention range,but this influence is more from motivation.In addition,the distribution pattern of attention resources in visual space is not influenced by emotional valence,but it changes locally due to the introduction of motivation.
