Teaching Research On Lacquer Painting In Chinese Art Colleges And Universities

There has been 30 years of development since China’s modern lacquer paintings appeared as a new type of independent painting.However,the history of lacquer decoration can be traced back to the Warring States Period.For example,the lacquerwork of the Warring States used lacquer as a medium to depict the scenes of hunting and dancing.The lacquer coffins of the Han Dynasty depicted many gods’ images and had exquisite decoration,not to mention the various paintings on lacquer screens and lacquer boxes in the later period.However,these arts were in the form of decorative objects and lacquer paintings,which had always been attached to lacquerwork as an aesthetic and emoticon function,did not become independent paintings.The production of modern lacquer paintings was not only influenced by the inheritance and accumulation of Chinese traditional lacquer art of thousands of years,but also was promoted by the foreign lacquer arts movement.In 1940,Mr.Fuwen Shen establish the major of Chuanmei Lacquerware and first proposed lacquer painting as an independent subject.Since then,Lacquer Art has been taken into the art education system of Chinese universities.Now more than 40 colleges and universities have set up the major of lacquer arts and lacquer painting.After the exploration by the teachers of many years,they gradually developed their own lacquer painting characteristics,cultivated a lot of lacquer painting artists for the whole country and even the whole world,and promoted the development of lacquer painting of the country.Thus the teaching of lacquer painting in Chinese universities has also been popularized.Looking forward to the future,we believe that the teaching of lacquer painting will become more perfect.
