Chen Mingyuan and Chen Mansheng(Known as the Two Chens)are Zisha artists in Qing Dynasty.They are not only the two high mountains in the history of Chinese traditional Zisha art,but also the pioneers of literator pot art.Their ideas of making pots not only widely led the overall trends development of Qing Zisha art,but have great and profound influences on the modern art of Zisha Pot.As the pioneer of literator pot art,the Two Chens have their unique understandings to Chinese traditional art,culture,nature and social life.They integrated their ideas into their art creation so that it came into the brand new modes of making pots and new styles of pot art.This paper tries to present and analyze the time significance and aesthetic value of the Two Chens' Zisha pot art systematically and find out the connotations,characteristics,meanings and values of the Two Chens' Zisha pot art forms in the background of Chinese traditional culture and in the support of Chinese traditional aesthetics and philosophy theories.The text part contains four chapters.In Chapter one,it presents the classifications and characteristics of Chinese Zisha pot and introduces the connections between Zisha art and Chinese traditional Confucianism,Taoism and Buddhism so as to figure out the characteristics of Qing literator pots;In Chapter Two,it studies the aesthetic connotation of the Mingyuan Chen's Zisha art through the specific works in the perspectives of historical background,the ideas of making the pots,the designs and the decoration features;In Chapter Three,it discusses the aesthetic features of Chen Mansheng 's Zisha art from the designs and decorations of his works,the Mansheng Pot and Mansheng Eighteen Types in the basis of the idea of Mansheng Chen's aesthetic ideology;In Chapter Four,it compares the pot arts of the Two Chen from artistic ideas and creating styles and analyzes the features of their own and their influences.In the Conclusion part,it is the summary of the features and meanings of the Two Chens' Zisha art and the prospect of the Two Chens' Zisha art value aiming at being helpful to the creation and research of Zisha art in the future.
