Research On The Problem Of Thieves In The Tang Dynasty

Tang Dynasty is the heyday in China,its civilization is far more than the other countries at that time.However,In the Tang Dynasty,the thieves is also difficult to curing and always exist.A lot of thieves not only threat the lives and property of the people,but also threat the stability of the Tang Empire.The active of a large number of thieves reflects the true situation of The Tang Dynasty,and one of the performance of the decline of the Tang Dynasty.The study of the thieves in the Tang Dynasty focused on the legal provisions,or scattered research,did not regard thieves in Tang Dynasty as a social group to do the overall study.Based on the study of the predecessors,focused on the ancient books and magazines,with the new historical materials as the supplement,this paper explores the Tang Dynasty thieves.This paper is composed of six chapters,including the activities of the thieves,the causes of the activities,the characteristics of the activities,the thoughts of controlling thieves,officers of controlling thieves,and the measures of controlling thieves.The first chapter:the activities of the thieves.In this chapter,the thieves can be divided into three categories.Dividing from the thieves identity,in addition to the people,there are officers,monks,soldiers,slaves and so on;Dividing from the area of activities,they are in the mountains,rivers,tombs and other areas;Dividing from the purpose,to protect the survival,to relief the poor,political assassination and other purposes.The second Chapter:the causes of the activities.There are three reasons.Firstly,the life is threatened;the second is the influence of regional customs;the third is the culture of Xia.The third chapter is the characteristics of thieves.First,in the identity,they are people and also thieves;secondly,They have a strong geographical color;third,to comply with professional ethics;At the last,They are influenced by the mainstream culture.The fourth chapter:the thoughts of controlling thieves.This chapter mainly analyzes the thought of three people in different periods.there are Li Shimin,Di Renji and Bai Juyi.The fifth chapter:the officers of controlling thieves.This chapter is from the administrative divisions,lists the main officers of controlling thieves.The sixth Chapter:This chapter summarizes the measures to control thieves.First,to use the legal;Second,to set torture;Third,to use army;lastly,to use the public power and so on.
