On The Misunderstanding Of Christian Original Sin By Lu Yin's Creation

In the May Forth period,China was filled with internal and external problems.Traditional culture faced the meaning's crisis,so the intellectuals turned their look to the west.The transmission of Western culture especially Christian culture shocked the spirit world of the intellectuals and promoted the modernization of Chinese literature.Although the preaching of the missionaries and the establishment of churches around China carried the color of colonial invasion,cultural property of Christianity had a profound significance on the development of Chinese literature.In order to explore an effective way of liberating women and saving country,the intellectuals,including female intellectuals,took Christianity as a thought resource and began to rethink Chinese traditional culture and realistic situation.Therefore,their literary creation directly reflected the influence of Christian culture.Lu Yin was a famous female writer in the May Forth period.Her thought was profound and her style was unique.She accepted the education of church school and once believed in Christianity.However,personal experience in adulthood and the baptism of the May Forth new trend made her infirm belief become fragmented.Finally,she became an atheist.Although Lu Yin's attitude towards Christianity experienced complex changes of believing in and abandoning,the influence of Christianity had always been there.Not only her funeral followed Christian rituals,but also her creation had obvious Christian mark.Lu Yin's life was ill-fated and religious belief brought her the courage of life and the sustenance of spirit.So,studying Lu Yin's creation from the angle of Christianity was also logical.This paper will combine Christian thought on the basis of the phenomenon of misreading in cultural transmission and discuss the misreading of Christian Original Sin in Lu Yin's creation by close reading and cross-cultural compassion.At last,it will illustrate Chinese intellectuals' attitude towards Christianity and mutual collision and mutual fusion of Christian culture and Chinese culture.First,this paper will summarize Lu Yin's religious view from the process of believing in and analyze Christian factors in Lu Yin's creation at the same time.Second,it will discuss the misreading of Christian Original Sin in Lu Yin's creation from the aesthetic style of sadness and the theme of women's salvation.Third,it will discuss the reason of this misreading from the inescapability of misreading,social objective factors and personal aesthetic emotion.Finally,it will discuss the significance of this misreading from the revaluation of Lu Yin's creation,secularization of Christian culture and double effects of misreading.The communication of different culture will produce some misreading,but also will promote inter update.It is the natural result in the process of cultural transmission.Hence,when discussing the relationship between Lu Yin and Christian culture,we should not only consider about the fusion of them,but also pay attention to the difference of them.In this way can we more comprehensively recognize the influence and the misreading of Chinese culture and Western culture.
