Books have traditionally carried on the important mission of recording and passing on human history and civilization. And with the development of time, book design has transformed from a two-dimensional form into a three-dimensional space structure, thus allowing readers to understand the content in a shorter period while encouraging rapid and effective interaction. This interaction is made up of a two-way structure. On one hand, the design content, through the subject's cognition,is internalized into a psychological state of the subject such as intuitive feeling, consciousness, transformation of thought as well as the reader's awareness and cultural mindset. On the other hand, the mental image and concept perceived by people, through the design activity,is externalized into objective material existence and finally produces a new design format. And this produces a continuous cycle of new design enhancement. In book design, choice of color and the graphics' symbolic language can also help convey the book's message more clearly to the reader.Meanwhile, text is considered the most important element of book design. The dynamic spatial design of text in the three-dimensional space has great impact on the reader. This paper mainly studies two-dimensional and three-dimensional book designs with an aim to prove the positive effects of three-dimensional design aesthetics and its enhanced interaction with the reader.By examining various source materials and Chinese as well as foreign book designs, the paper reaches the conclusion that science technology is in fact the most important factor in realizing the two-dimensional and three-dimensional design integration, which is more intuitive, has higher artistic value and allows a more creative thinking while proving to be much more self-innovative and valuable.
