Crime film is one of the most primitive types of film,and it has an early tradition in China that detective film is treated as sub-type of crime film.Detective movies such as "Murder in the Wedding" and "The Big Robbery No.303" were appeared in 1930 s in China,there were "The Chinese Robin Hood" and Charlie Chan series within "isolated island" period,and there were detective spy films such as "No.1 Spy" and "The Pink Bomber" etc from 1945 to 1949.While within the period of seventeen years,a large number of anti spy films were inextricably linked with criminal detective drama.After 10 years of silent and dark history of Cultural Revolution,criminal detective films started to recover from "The Iron Triangle" in 1977.Just after the Cultural Revolution,criminal detective films were no longer confined to anti spy theme,and discussion of ten year’s error and impact of "scar literature" were spread to this business type.Criminal detective films within a few years after that were created mainly in three fields of "protecting treasures","anti-corruption" and "bringing order out of chaos".This kind of film kept increasing year by year until 1988 when climax of entertainment films was appeared in Chinese film,along with creation blowout of criminal detective films.Till late 1990 s,with popularization and development of television,stories with the theme of criminal investigation shifted battlefield to TV drama.Criminal detective films in 21 st Century seems to lose viability of 20 years before reform and opening up superficially,but every year there are many good films entering into vision of audiences with this type.Narrative technique and audio-visual language of criminal detective films after Cultural Revolution are still very immature.The film’s story relies on coincidences and unexpected events to drive and characters are binary opposition and portrayed rigidly.Clip traces of many movies are obvious,repeatedly use large sliding lens and shot over axis unconsciously.Meanwhile,conscious self-replication and initial construction of narrative practice were presented in early criminal detective films,and a series of effective practices were carried out in narrative specification of business story films with the purpose of entertainment.Therefore,research on main subtype of Chinese crime film of criminal detective film after Cultural Revolution is not only a detailed study of Chinese films in 1980 s within the period of transformation,but also sheds light on future of narrative of business story films.Main history and present situation of types of Chinese criminal detective films after Cultural Revolution were hackled in the paper at first,narrative technique and style of criminal detective films in this period were analyzed and summarized from four aspects of constructing type practice,narrative technique from early childhood to mature,female and female body as symbols and narrative elements for the purpose of interest,thus try to deduce breakthrough way of modern criminal detective films.In terms of constructing narrative practices,many films pursue three-act structure consciously or unconsciously with the prototype of "place righteousness above family loyalty",similar role map and story direction being repeatedly copied.While in terms of narrative technique,there is extremely significant growth trajectory for this type.Driving force of the story is from external task-driven to self-investigation of leading roles,conflict is constructed from character opposition with a clear distinction between black and white to human predicament,and narrative logic is from adding paragraph stickiness with complex people relationship network in early stage to relying on cases with ring set puzzles promoted by causal logic and on mesh narrative with clue of signification.As a sub-type of crime film,criminal detective films in this period fully steeped in adoration of "tough guy" under patriarchal discourse and female become instrumental narrative symbol.Female images in criminal detective films can be roughly divided into female detectives,female offenders and weak women as victims,and body presentation of these women becomes part of the narrative under patriarchal perspective.Through study on above three parts of these movies,interesting orientation of this type of film is discerned from being obscure to evident in the paper,and final purpose of construction of its stylized characters,fascination of spectacle scene,appreciation of "criminal act" itself and narrative game not for signification is not to preach but to meet psychological "pleasure".It can be concluded that the breakthrough way of criminal detective films in present age is style transformation of type elements,and vitality and development strategy of this type of films are explored through several criminal detective films with distinct features in this century.
