The Translation And Influence Of Lao She In Thailand

Lao She(1899-1966 A.D.)is one of the most well-known authors in the Modern Chinese literature.He has also had an important effect in many countries around the world,especially in the field of culture and literature in East Asian countries.The development of Chinese society has direct effects on the Chinese literature and it also induces such significant changes,Especially in 54 New Culture Movement time.A lot of excellent Chinese literary works spread to many overseas countries,including Thailand.China and Thailand are friendly and close neighbors for a long time,and a diplomatic relationship was established.Chinese literature,such as the works of Lu Xun,Lao She and Mao Dun has influenced the thinking of the left writers in Thailand.There has also been an upsurge of Chinese realistic literature translation during this period.The translations of Chinese realistic literature have influenced the Thai language,mentality,literature and other areas.In 1971,The Rickshaw Boy written by Lao she was firstly translated into Thai language.Since then,this book revised for several times.The evidence of Lao She's work in Thailand today is rare.These are the list of papers about Lao She's works,which written by the previous researchers: Ms.Rosarin Sirilertsaksakul's thesis A Study of the grammar problem found in reading the source language “Chinese” and the target language “Thai” of “Luotuo Xiangzi,Ke Fangfang's thesis A Comparison of Chinese and Thai AntiJapanese Literature: A Literary Analysis of “The Yellow Storm” and “Earth,River and Flowres,Zhang Jinjiao's thesis A Comparison of Chinese and Thai Image of prostitutes: The comparison of “Crescent moon” and “Dust girl”,and Ma Shufen's thesis A Comparative Study on Two Translations of “Crescent moon” in Thai and so on.The main focus of this writer is on three comparative study,translation theory and cross culture study.And then analysis of translation and influence of Lao She's works in Thailand.This thesis is divided into two parts——the first part tries to summarize the translated activities and situation of Lao She's works in Thailand,the second part tries to discuss and clarify the influence of Lao She' works to Thai writers and Thai Literature.The point of this thesis is based on the acceptation of Lao She's works by Thai writers.This thesis tries to summarize the research of Lao She's work.And it finally concludes with a compilation of famous literature by Lao She,which has been translated into Thai.Finally,I expect that this thesis could be helpful to the study of Chinese literature which translated into Thai language.And it would be of great importance in gaining a deeper insight into the reading demand of Thai people,but also it would strengthen the cultural communication between China and Thailand.
