With the rising of China's international status,"Chinese fever" has touched many parts of the world, more and more students are studying Chinese, especially Chinese Canadian students.Compared to other non-Chinese students,Chinese Canadians acceptance of the Chinese culture is higher. Many problems can occur in their understanding, acceptance,of Chinese culture due to their country of residence. This article talks about solving these problems, not only to help Chinese students to improve recognition, but to also find ways to contribute to the promotion of Chinese culture through publicity and recognition in the world. In recent years there are not a lot of research on Chinese Canadians. Most studies are theoretical studies due to geography, time, money, and other constraints rather than empirical studies. The author being Chinese Canadian and grew up in Canada, she is able to gather direct information, theories and views of other scholars,to analyze and discuss this topic. This paper is divided into four chapters. The first chapter discusses background.First,Chinese Canadian student's recognition status to their Chinese heritage, particularly Chinese Canadian cultural identity.Secondly, the author introduces relevant cultural identity theory and research in China and in Canada.Chapter two mainly consists of information gathered through questionnaires and interviews.Chapter three consists of quantitative and qualitative research findings,Canadian cultural identity of Chinese students, and a conclusion of findings. The fourth chapter discusses Canadian students of Chinese origin from an individual, schools, families, and social aspects point of views. Also, how to strengthen their views of their cultural identity.Because of my personal capacity as well as time, and money, information may not be sufficient. This article has some limitations, and I am looking forward to other researchers to explore and investigate in this area.
