| This paper studies the Chinese and Thai idioms about animal.From comparing the two kinds of idioms,we mainly analyzed the different implication that indicated in them and the reason caused such difference.This paper includes three parts.Firstly,we discussed the definition,category and implication of Chinese and Thai animal idioms.Secondly,we analyzed the different cultural factors in both kinds of idioms,such as the relation between culture and Religious beliefs,habits,traditions,customs and historical legends.Finally,the cultural connotation of Chinese and Thai animal idioms was compared.And it includes several aspects:social cultural background,natural conditions,life style and people's emotion on animal.We hope to help the learners to grasp the cultural factors which are indicated from the idioms through this paper. |
