The Report Of The Documentary "Reminiscence Of Jinan Old Railway Station"

Planning for more than 20 years, and carefully carving nearly 3 years, the 64-year-old retired worker Jin Zhiming finally "rebuild" the old Jinan railway station(Tientsin-Pukow Railway -Jinan Station) with a knife, achieving his long-cherished wish for many years. The documentary "Memories of the Tientsin-Pukow Railway-Jinan Station" is a complete presentation of Jin Zhiming's story--from his initial planning to the successful restoration of the wood carving model of old Jinan railway station. Closely linked to the theme "memory",the documentary takes Jin's story as the starting point, Collating and presenting the historical changes, architectural features and cultural value of old Jinan railway station with the interviews of railway culture scholar Yu Jianyong,Jin's wife Wang Xiurong and other relevant figures,as well as the collection of literature reviews.The purpose of this paper is to analyze the creative ideas and the value of the film from the perspective of the documentary creator, reviewing the shooting and filmmaking process and summarizing the experience and shortcomings of the process,and in addition, to try to explore and criticize ideas in human history documentary and means of its expression from the academic point of view.
