Space Guide And Sign System In Underground Railway Station Design Research

As the progress of developing urban and railway construction in China speed up, the requirement from intercity short-tripe like business and commuter is rising. Usually the new high-speed railway stations will locate in urban periphery, that will not only heavier the transfer pressure of traffic in the city, but also can’t catch the demand of the intercity short-tripe passengers which want to shorten the traffic time. To responses the voice that locate the intercity short-tripe railway station near city center area, and to solve the problems that station buildings and railways cut off the urban functions and traffic, here comes a new type of railway station-----Underground railway station. As this article into the draft, there are only two underground railway stations have completed and put into use.After analyze and study the questionnaire which aim to the passenger flows in underground railway stations, two main changes that distinguished from normal railway station will rise when we underground the station functions:on the one hand is the station function flows will be different, the other hand is the passenger flows’characteristic and travel features have changed. In that case, to response these two changes, we need to targeted enhance and redesign the space guide and sign system in underground railway stations, cause the space guide and sign system in normal railway stations can’t fully response the new demand.In connection with the difference between the passenger flows composition and traffic flows, this article propose and dissertate some new measures which aim to the important passenger flows that compose by the business men and the commuting passengers in underground railway stations, include:on the one hand during the space guide and sign system designing, the publishing of timing and transit information which are sensitive to the main passenger flows and the coordination of information between the railway stuff and business stuff should be strengthen; on the other hand, during the space guide system designing, the important role of space guide should be strengthen, via using the space form, natural light, colors, material, to achieve the guide goal.If those sign and space guide measures can be used, the station guide efficiency will be promoted, and the passengers in underground railway stations will also grasp the using of timing, enjoy the convenient and cozy which comes from the integrated hub in city center area, and the transfer efficiency, business services, travel quality can also be promoted.
