The Ming Dynasty(1368 A.D.-1644 A.D.) is the dynasty worthy to be mentione d in the development of ancient music. As the music communicators of this period, lit erati integrated the self-cultivation and music culture, integrated the music pleasure w ith daily lives naturally, immersed themselves with music so as to achieve the distillat ion of spiritual world. Meanwhile, the historical process of the Ming Dynasty has pro vided a good living environment for the development of music. On the one hand, the dynasty is much closer to the contemporary era from the view of time dimension, dur ing which the preservation of music materials was relatively complete and the creatio n of literati was the main body of the trend of cultural development. As a result, the li terati were the the main carriers of the creations of music themes. The literati group o f the Ming Dynasty included a variety of people, I classified them into two types base d on their relationship with the historical and political background: bureaucratic litera ti and non-bureaucratic literati. I will research the internal and external relationships between the literati's self-cultivation and music according to their daily lives and arti Stic creation. And I will also analyze the cultivation of literati's learning and cultivati on in the exact political and cultural environment, the environment includes different kinds of rites and music culture, brothel culture, nourishing of life, tea culture and etc.On the other hand, the flourishing vitality of Ming Dynasty art elevated the height of the music creation. The musical composition, the diction and ditty as well as the clas sical drama are the crystallizations of musical development. Dai Yi, Huang Xian, Zha ng Wei, Shi Bing, Wang Jinde, Jin Zhong, Yan Hui, Chen Dabin, Yan Cheng, Xu Sh angying and etc. are all the famous Guqin artists.The artists do to keep pursuing the Guqin culture relentlessly while engaging in literary poetry. Therefor, we have the ex isting music score sets like; Magic Secret Score, Music Score Interpretation in Zhejia ng Tone, Ancient Heritage Sound written by Xie Lin, Ancient Heritage Sound writte n by Huang Shida and Five Sound Score.The literati in the Ming Dynasty represented by Xu Wei, Feng Menglong and et c. created the tendency of popularity and classified the popular music. As a result. the re exists the diction anthologies like Xian Ju Anthology, Shan Ge, Gua Zhi'er and etcThere are may famous opera theorists in the Ming Dynasty like Tang Xianzu, Sh en Jing, Gu Dadian, Lv Tiancheng, Ye Xianzu, Wang Yide, Shen Zijin. They develop ed the melodramas rapidly by penetrating emotion in detail and bringing logical theor ies. Consequently, many dramas like The Purple Hairpin, Nanke dream, Peony Pavil ion,Handan Records and etc. have been left; as well as many drama theoretical works like The Appraisal of Drama, The Notes of Drams and so on.I have selected differen n. I have selected differen t representative literati and their works to elaborate the wisdom and cultivation of lite rati in the Ming Dynasty from many aspects, especially in the aspect of the direct or i ndirect intermingling between the development of music and the cultivation of literati in the Ming Dynasty.
