With the progress of science and technology and the increase of network popularity, there are more and more network users. This group of college students has the characteristics of active thinking, courage to try new things, with the rapid development of the network, this group has become the main force behoove network use, also is the network dependent highrisk group. While benefiting from the Internet, over reliance on the Internet also brings a lot of psychological problems to the individual, such as increasing shyness and lowering selfesteem. In view of this, this study aimed to explore the relationship between shyness, selfesteem in the freshman first-year and rely on the network, and using cross lagged mutual prediction model to explore themutual predictive relationship between shyness and Internet dependence, and self-esteem and Internet dependence. In Shandong two college freshman to start from the test after the training, each participants completed the shyness scale, self esteem scale and relying on the network scale,in January of the same interval were tested with a total of three times, tracking measurement. The data were analyzed by cross-lag analysis. The results were as follows:(1)the selfesteem scores tended to decrease, and the scores of Internet dependence increased, while the shyness scores increased first and then decreased.(2)the stability of the scores of shyness and self-esteem is gradually increasing, and the stability of the network according to the score is gradually decreased.(3)Pearson product moment correlation analysis showed that the correlation between shyness at three time points was significant, and the correlation between self-esteem was significant, and the correlation between network dependence was significant. In the three test, there was a significant positive correlation between shyness and network dependence at three time points, and there was a significant negative correlation between selfesteem and network dependence.(4)cross lagged analysis results show that the time dependence on the network after a time point shyness has significant positive predictive effect, after a time of shyness and further to the next time the network has significant positive predictive effect. In addition, the network dependence at the previous time has a significant negative predictive effect on self-esteem at a later time, and the self-esteem at the previous time does not predict the network dependence at a later time.(5)the shyness of the second time point plays a partial mediating role between the network dependence at the first point of time and the network dependence at the third time point. On the basis of analyzing the mutual relationship between the predicted shyness, selfesteem and rely on the network, the network between dependence and mutual dependence network can shyness be predicted with self-esteem predicted only one-way,namely the time dependent network can predict the time point after a self-esteem.At the same time, the shyness of the second time point plays a partial mediating role between the network dependence at the first point of time and the network dependence at the second time point, suggesting that there are other factors besides shyness. These findings also provide empirical data for interventions to reduce shyness and improve self-esteem.
