Kissinger(1923-)is a famous diplomat and international expert in the U.S.During his term in office,he had been working on the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United states.The diplomatic relations between China and the United States had established in 1979.Their relationship was in the groping forward.In 1990,Deng Xiaoping took a back seat,who was the China leaders closely with Kissinger.Clinton completed his first term in 1992 and was elected the president of the United States.Within this period of Kissinger 's non-traditional diplomacy plays an important role in the development of Sino-U.S.relations.Prior to entering the government,Kissinger studied at Harvard University and remained as a professor.He had an in-depth analysis of international relations and Sino-U.S.Relations,and had resulted in his unique political thought and diplomatic theory.During the period of Nixon and the Ford administration,Kissinger led and promoted a series of friendly activities with China,which provided practical experience for non-traditional diplomacy.There are a lot of the contributions of diplomatic relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States,including the writing of the Sino-U.S.relations,the establishment of consulting companies,the influence of American policy as think tanks and visited China for many times.After retiring as a scholar,Kissinger was affectionately called “Dr.Kissinger” by the Chinese people.He visited China and met with Chinese leaders to explore the path of the development of Sino-U.S.Relations.The article takes Kissinger's activities for China during the1979-1992 as the main research object,which attempts to analyze Kissinger's activities for China with the angle of non-traditional diplomacy.Then,this article summarizes non-traditional diplomatic influence and limitations and Kissinger's influence in the history of Sino-U.S.relation.After leaving the administration for many years,Kissinger still plays an important role in the development of Sino-U.S.relation.While in office,he is on behalf of the U.S.government.These belong to the traditional official diplomacy.After exiting administration,his activities are on behalf of non-governmental organizations and individuals.They are a non-traditional diplomacy.Although these non traditional diplomatic activities not are the mainstream of diplomacy,but also to do for Sino-U.S.relations has made a significant contribution.Especially when Sino-U.S.relations are tense,Kissinger plays the role of mediator and plays an important role in the development of Sino-U.S.Relations.These activities can make up the deficiency of traditional diplomacy and provide a more convenient channel for exchanges between countries.
