Research On The Phenomenon Of Translational Body In English-Chinese Communication

Translationese is the translation which mechanically transplants the surface structure of the source language despite the differences between the source language and the target one.Its essence is linguistic hybridity and its specific form in the English-Chinese translation is Europeanized Chinese.Translationese can be categorized into "non-benign translationese" and "benign translationese".On the bright side,the benign translationese can enrich the linguistic expressions of the target language and contribute to the culture exchange while the non-benign translationese affects the information communication,and breaks target language conventions.Translationese occurs frequently during the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting,it is formed by improper target language collocations,syntax errors and the logic perversion of the text.The root cause of translationese is the cultural,thinking and the linguistic differences between Chinese and English,so the thinking transformation is required during the English-Chinese consecutive interpreting rather than the semantic translation in the surface structure.Through the case study,this thesis proposes the appropriate solutions such as “positive translating”,“reverse translating” and etc to solve the problems.Hopefully the interpreter,especially the beginners can take them as approaches to reduce the frequencies of the tranlastionese in the interpretation and to improve themselves constantly.
