A Comparative Study Of Russian And Chinese Restrictive Public Signs

Public signs are content in text and graphic form demonstrated to public who need to know,which includes identification,indicator,guideboard,slogan,announcement,caution and etc..Bilingual public signs are becoming more and more common in public places with the deeper international contacts.However,the problems of Russian public signs are getting worse,such as the frequent phenomenons of nonstandard written form and wrong translation.As an important part of public signs,restrictive public signs have great significance in regulating social behavior,optimizing the living environment and maintaining public order.In this thesis,qualitative analysis and comparative analysis are used to make language comparative analysis between Russian and Chinese restrictive public signs,summarize the similarities and differences between Russian and Chinese restriction public signs in orthography,punctuation,vocabulary,grammar,editing and typesetting as well as reveal the causes of the differences of Russian and Chinese restrictive public signs in language types,expression habits,national characters and ways of thinking.Through comparing the differences of Russian and Chinese restrictive public signs,the author aims to understand characters of Russian and Chinese restrictive signs so as to abstract models of restrictive public signs,reduce translation errors and offer Russians in China convenience.
