Su Shi's Theory Of History

Song Dynasty is the most prosperous period of development of Chinese historical essays.As one of the most famous litterateurs in Song Dynasty,Sushi’s historical essays stand out from the crowd and even become the object of others to follow.Which have a profound impact on the historical essays in Song Dynasty.This paper takes the Su Shi Wen Ji published by Zhonghua Book Company as the center,combined with the academic-concerned research fruits,conducting a comprehensive study of Sushi’s historical essays and some related problems.Sushi has so many historical essays,which can be divided into two categories:“evaluation of history” and “political discussion”.Thereinto,the evaluation of history starts mainly from three aspects of the history of commentary,historical figures and historical comments.The contents of the political discussion can be summarized as four aspects,such as “the relationship between monarch and bureaucrats,the way of calming people,the financial system and the military system”.And because Sushi’s essays always contain his view of history,so we can also summarize Sushi’s historical thoughts and history methodology from his historical essays.In addition,it’s worth mentioning that the characters of Sushi’s historical essays make Sushi and his essays popular and famous,which have a far-reaching influence on others.Researching Sushi’s historical essays from a historical perspective,we can have a better understanding of Sushi and his works on the one hand.And on the other hand,it can enrich the Theory system of history and promote the development of history.
