Bai Za Ran is a resist dyeing technique developed by the Bai people in Dali,China.As a pearl in the Chinese national traditional techniques,it never failed to fascinate people with its unique charming.Originated from plenty of practices and long-term perfection,it contains emotions and traditional aesthetics of Bai people.It can be said that the Za Ran technique is a media for Bai nationality with abundant cultural meanings.The technique is an inestimable intangible cultural heritage.As society developed,Za Ran technique is gradually receding and hard to meet the modern aesthetic needs.Under the background of reviving Chinese traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage,contemporary artists should be responsible for protecting,inheriting and developing Bai Za Ran technique.Recently,Chinese modern fiber arts steps in a time of prosperity.They permeate into different kinds of presence broadly with diverse handicrafts and amazing performance.As a contemporary manifestation of art,modern fiber art developed the language of modern arts.It can be expected that more and more artists will be participate into composing more masterpieces of fiber arts.This passage will focus on the cultural background,unique technique and art language of Bai Za Ran.With analysis of development of modern fiber art,the research aims at combining the Bai Zha Ran and modern fiber art.It is trying to refresh the Zha Ran technique in presence and turn the traditional technique into art creation based on the modern fiber creative ideas.It is believed that it can revive the traditional art and step into new stage.
