Yuan Yunsheng And Nude Art Research

In 1979,Yuan Yunsheng created a mural,Songkran-Paean of life,at Beijing International Airport caused a great shock.The visual of three naked girls caused an instant unprecedented social sensation.Consequently,this mural then provoked controversy.The painting was sealed off by another wood wall.The event attracted various people to join the discussion,with many different arguments.For instance,the traditions of culture and values,the limitation of the public's education and their knowledge of the nude arts,and the social background at the end of the 1970's.It was a unique era and there were various artistic ideas and social cultural phenomenon during the early stages of reform and opening.Based on these,this paper discusses the nudity in mural art as an expression of public art in China.It played a role in propelling mural development and nude art enlightenment during that time.The paper discusses the conflict and relationship between the history of nude art and aesthetics and moral values in China.In addition,the paper explores the way of understanding nude art and analyses this mural event based on its specific time period.Yuan Yunsheng is a contemporary artist.From this event,we can learn how the artist Yuan shows his excellent talent,great passion and aspirations.Since the individuality and aesthetic significance has been neglected for a long period,female nudity in public space mural art at the beginning of the liberation shocked the Chinese and even people overseas.Yuan Yunsheng is one of the pioneers in the exploration of both Chinese and Western paintings.He integrates the traditions,literature,narrative and decoration into his creation,innovating his own unique artistic language.The paper emphasizes Yuan's artistic spirit and historical contribution to the reconstruction of Chinese contemporary art,especially his returning to the ontology of art from ideology,and his efforts of exploration and practice of nude art.In the first chapter,it gives a brief overview of Chinese art before 1979.The second chapter analyzes Mr.Yuan Yunsheng's mural event and various comments related to this mural painting.In addition,it discusses the social influence and its causes.The third chapter analyzes Mr.Yuan's ideas guiding artistic creation,especially his artistic spirit,practice,and the pursuit of art by his self-construction.In the fourth chapter the main issue-controversial nude art and "re-enlightenment",including nude art appeared in public logically and its perspective of masculine visual experience and the issues involved,is analyzed.The fifth chapter analyzes the contemporary state of nude art as well as the exploring and appreciating the concept of nude art.
