VP X Configuration Analysis

This thesis is based on the reduction-ism,holism approach and some other research methods to analyze construction of“VP 个 X”.The research methods include the description method,qualitative analysis method,quantitative analysis method,comparative method,literature review method,etc.And this thesis defines the construction of "VP 个 X"and explicates its structural features and semantics features.This thesis investigates the situation of usage of the construction of "VP 个 X" since the Yuan Dynasty.According to Construction Grammar,this thesis analyzes the structure,semantics and discourse function of construction of“VP 个 X”comprehensively.And we discuss the restrictive conditions of building different construction of "VP 个 X".The main conclusion is as follows:The construction of“VP 个 X”is divided into two categories,the structure of the fist one is "Predicate+个+Object" and the structure of the other one is "Predicate + 个 + Complement".Generally,the X in the former is the Nouns and the Predicate,the X of the latter is the Predicate.And there is matching property between the form and semantics of the construction of "VP 个 X",and the construction of "VP 个 X" has emphasize meaning,positive meaning,negative meaning,easy and random meaning,and the construction of "VP 个 X" also has some special function of discourse in different context.
