Turkish Students Learn Chinese Characters And Countermeasures

One of the most difficult part of Chinese education is Chinese characters.Chinese characters’ difficulty deeply affects students’ efficiency in learning Chinese.The difference between China and Turkey’s languages and cultures is very big.These differences have bad effects on Turkish students who want to learn Chinese.That’s why,Turkish students who want to learn Chinese,first of all should have a deep understanding of Chinese characters.Because the students who don’t understand Chinese characters well are more likely to forget how to write the characters and easily make mistakes while writing.The main purpose of this paper is to help Turkish students overcome the difficulties of learning Chinese characters.This paper was prepared by collecting home works and practice papers of students of Ankara and Erciyes Universities.All the data collected has been analyzed carefully and gave a useful analysis of errors in learning Chinese,and in the light of the results,writer put forward some ideas and ways to study Chinese characters to solve these problems.Thousands of years have passed since Chinese characters were first invented.Over this span of time,Chinese characters have continually developed,evolved and grown in number.However,Chinese characters are not a random,disorderly collection of pictures;the structures of these characters follow regular patterns and rules.Understanding these patterns can help us to master Chinese characters with greater speed,accuracy and retention.We can even grasp the meaning of some characters simply by examining their shape and form.This thesis is an analysis of errors in teaching Chinese as a foreign language and compiles a large amount of data of Chinese Characters written by Turkish students,and analyzes the errors of Turkish Students’ Writing of Chinese Characters and provides reasons explaining these errors.Writer uses Chinese Character Building methods to solve these errors.
