The theory of Symbol and mathematics in Han dynasty overemphasizes on " image ",which leads to the annotation is too trifling.Wang Bi use the method " grasping the images and forgetting the speech, grasping the meanings and forgetting the images " to reform the studies of the Book of Changes in Han dynasty.First of all,Wang Bi admits the role of words in images,also admits the role of image in meaning.Secondly he emphasizes the instrumental of words and images.Finally,Grasp the meaning must go through two stages:get the image and forget the image.The key of grasp the meaning is to forget the image.And the reason why we can " forget" is that image is the carrier of "forget".Compared with Westerners,Chinese has a different way of thinking--Xiang Thinking,The main features of this way of thinking is that integration of subjectivity and objectivity.The " meaning " we want get is the " meaning of the sage " which is the understanding of ontology non-being.Non-being is non entity,non object,so you can't use the concept of thinking to get it,only through the Xiang Thinking to grasp.In addition,the Non-being itself is a kind of'original image',so need to use " image " to understand. The reason that image can expresses original image is that the image has the characteristics of flow and transformation.Wang Bi's thought of speech and meaning is not only the method of interpretation classics,but also the method of perforate the noumenon and phenomenon.Grasp the noumenon need to use words and images,but can not completely rely on them.The real way to run throughout noumenon and phenomenon is not only to grasp the words and the images but also to practice by self.
