Animation films have always been a comprehensive art combined with visual and auditory art.With the improvement of people's living standard and the aesthetic enhancement and change,the requirements for the audio-visual art of animation films are also increasing.In recent years,animation films from the United States and Japan have occupied most market in China.Kung Fu Panda,Spirited Away and Ice Age have become a classic memory in the hearts of the Chinese audiences.It's due to the quality of the animation films that Chinese audiences are willing to pay for them,while in contrast domestic animation films have a large amount with rare masterpieces.We should find out the problems in the development of domestic animation films on this occasion.Besides,we should be down to earth to eliminate the dross and introduce new elements to seek a new way to animation films and open up a Chinese animation film market.As an indispensable part of audio-visual art,sound art has become a major problem that the creators have to face.The audiences' needs for the powerful auditory experience force the creators to strengthen the design of sound elements to enhance more diverse performance and imagination of sound.Therefore,it is very important to understand and analyze the sound elements of domestic animation films.This paper was based on the three sound elements of animation films and selected representatives of domestic animation works in recent years as an example to make the detailed analysis and description of the sound characteristics of the domestic animation films after 90 s,in order to seek better development for domestic animation films in the performance and innovation of sound art and indicate the direction for promoting the progress of the whole domestic animation films.This paper consists of five chapters.Chapter one starts out as a brief introduction of the whole thesis.Chapter two mainly analysis the concept and development of animation films,and reviews some previous studies on domestic animation films between 1950 s and 1990 s.Besides,a theoretical interpretation on the three sound elements,is given in this chapter,which lies a foundation for an in-depth analysis on the following chapters.Chapter three and four focus on these typical features of three sound elements in domestic animation films,analysis the subtle presentation and development of those elements.In addition the reasons for the development of 1990 s is discussed from t he perspective of the development of domestic animation films.The last chapter discussed the problems and the mission of sound elements in Chinese animation films.It showed that the evolution of sound elements in different times would cause audience's aesthetic changes,and only grasping the innovation of sound elements and confirming the mission and value of sound in animation films could develop domestic animation films better and find out where the problem lies,making the animation films have considerable development.
