On Chi Zijian's Recent Novel Creation

Chi Zijian as a prolific writer, from the Northeast Mohe County, has kept writing since entering the literary world. During her thirty years of writing career, her writing style has experienced four stages with creative effort. Among her early creation-time, she has been marked with her "tender sentiments". but In Chi Zijian’s creation in the new century. we can find that "tender sentiments" are reduced and chill is added. Performance at two levels:in the content, she begins to write the cruel looks of human life and dig the real source of "evil" from the depth of humanity; in the technique of writing, she begins to use various means of sharp criticism. reasons are as follows: the influence of personal experience, the change of Chi Zijian’s creative ideas and her significant improvement of her writing skills.All these changes have made us see a different Chi Zijian. But this does not mean that Chi Zijian has given up her faith in "tender sentiments", her changes allow us to see the desolation from the warmth, the thorough understanding after despair, which is indeed "tender sentiments" of much stronger power. This paper mainly focuses on Chi Zijian’s recent creation-time. No effort will be spared to study and compare her creation. From the relationship between the writers and their creation, we can find the changes of the themes and writing techniques in the recent creation-time.In order to better reflect the transformation of Chi Zijian’s recent creation-time, first of all, we should explore Chi Zijian’s early writing style. During this period, she has tried new narrative methods, aesthetic perspectives and creative styles. Although Chi Zijian has never followed any literary trends or joined any literary genre. However, through the study of her earlier works, we can find that, apart from the most personal style of works, many of her works are very similar to that of many literary schools at that time. Upon comprehensive study of all the above sorts of factors, Chi Zijian’s earlier works can be divided into four stages:Chi Zijian’s "seeking the root of literature", "fairy tale" of Bei Jicun, Chi Zijian’s "new historical novel" and native novels. Throughout the various stages of Chi Zijian’s early creation, we can find that "tender sentiments" has run through all the stages.After a brief review of the previous works, we will focus on her recent works. because of the influence of personal experience, the change of Chi Zijian’s creative ideas and her significant improvement of her writing skills. Compared with the previous research, we can find the changes of her recent works in three aspects:namely, facing outward-towards the tattered real life, facing inner world -- towards the thorough excavation of "evilness" in human nature, and facing sternness -- towards the presentation of a world of absurdity in the fierce criticism. However, writer’s every change does not mean the denial of the early creation stage; rather, the changes are just the exploration of more suitable writing style. Chi Zijian’s change is not the proof that Chi Zijian has abandoned her belief in "tender sentiments ".on the contrary, we can find that she trusts her "tender sentiments ".All in all, through the comprehensive study of Chi Zijian’s recent works, we can find the overall temperament in all of her creation, which will not only help us with a deepened understanding of the writer, but also with the grasp of the development of contemporary literature.
