This paper focuses on the semantic and cultural analysis of idioms about sheep. Then I make some suggestions for idioms about sheep of the Foreign Language Cultural Teaching.This paper mainly includes four parts:The first part is introduction. Including the meanings and the reasons of the topic, the definition, scope and sources of idioms, the current research, the basic structure and the method of idioms. Idioms about sheep contain rich Chinese culture and they play an important role in inheriting and carrying the Chinese civilization. Sheep have been closely associated with human since ancient times. It is one of the typical animals on behalf of the Chinese traditional culture. So they have important research value. But at present, the papers and monographs of research about idioms is few. This is why I choose to research idioms about sheep. I hope to contribute to the research for idioms.The second part is the analysis of the cultural meanings of idioms on the sheep. The idiom is the wisdom of the Chinese people for thousands of years. It is an important and characteristic part of language. "sheep" as the theme of the idioms reflect the splendid and glorious material culture and spiritual culture. Material culture includes the Chinese animal husbandry culture, the diet culture and costume culture. The animal husbandry culture includes "sheep" grazing habits, character of "sheep", the management method of the sheep and Tigers and Wolfs' attacking. In the diet culture, mainly analyzing the smell of mutton, sheep head meat sheep, sheep soup, cheese and lamb wine. In terms of clothing, mainly introduced the sheep blankets, the fur of sheep and lamb.Spiritual culture include divination and the sacrifice culture, Chinese traditional ethics and etiquette culture. Buddhist culture, Philosophical wisdom. They introduce the primitive religious activities such as divination and sacrifice. Filial piety, loyalty, holding the sheep ritual culture, donation, merits and virtues, seclusion, aha. The grasp of the main contradiction of things and the understanding of the nature of things.The third part is the teaching Chinese as a foreign language of idioms about sheep. The teaching of idioms on the sheep should attach importance to cultural teaching. From three aspects putting some suggestions. The three aspects are Curriculum Suggestions, culture teaching method and teaching material writing. Pointing out that the teacher should follow the principles in the process of cultural teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The fourth part is conclusion. The conclusion of idioms on the sheep, the Suggestions of further research.
