Liu Tingfang's "Chinese Christianity" Thought Research

Indigenization is the subject of Christianity in China can not be avoied. Timothy Tingfang Lew as an outstanding Christian scholars and religious leaders witnessed the beginning of the 20 th century, the third and Collision between Christianity and Chinese culture. Timothy Tingfang Lew, “Chinese ChristianityThought ”as the research object, through his book, his speec and his done to resolve the main connotation “Chinese Christian Thought”.Indigenization means change the old character of theological doctrine and organizational ceremonial to adapt the new environment. This paper has two parts to analysis Timothy Tingfang Lew’s “Chinese Christian Thought”. First, explain the theological thought of Christianity Jesus in order to make the Christian doctrine to adapt the realities of Chinese society; second, change the old organization of the Christian to adapt the Chinese ethical culture. Due to the influence of Western psychology, Timothy Tingfang Lew try to experience on activities, religious education and ethical culture,and hope to find the most suitable for the development of Christianity in China.In short, Timothy Tingfang Lew was a great person. His contribution should be remembered.
