To explore the characteristics of the shy middle school students'attention to the expressive faces from time dimension, questionnaire survey and behavioral research was adopted, and the Rapid serial visual presentation paradigm was used in the study. Middle school students' Shyness Scale was measured to select 94 subjects as High Shyness group and 94 subjects as Low Shyness group. Then subjects were tested through three experiments. Experiment 1 adopted a mixed design of 2x3x2 to explore the effects of the level of shyness and the first target stimulus(T1) expression property to the attentional blink in the gender judge task. Experiment 2 adopted the same design and subjects as experiment1. The aim of the second study was to explore the effects of shyness and T1 expression property to the attentional blink whether depending on the T1 judge task or not. Experiment 3 adopted a mixed design of 2x3x2 to study the first target stimulus(T2) expression property and different shyness individuals how to capture the attention in the condition of limited attentional resources.Results:(1) The main effect of the level of shyness showed significantly in experiments except experiment1 in the accuracy of T2. And when T1 were the expressive faces, the accuracy of T2 from the low shyness group was significantly greater than the high shyness group. The low shyness group showed superior detection of T2, if T2 was the faces with different expression.(2) The main effect of T1 expression property showed significantly in the accuracy of T2, and negative was significantly less than positive and neutral expression; The main effect of T2 expression property showed significantly in the accuracy of T2, and negative was significantly greater than positive and neutral expression. The main effect of Lag showed significantly in the accuracy of T2, and Lag3 was significantly less than Lag7.(3) The interaction of the level of shyness and T1 expression property showed significantly. In the gender judge task, the accuracy of T2 from the high shyness group was significantly less than the high shyness group when T1 was positive expression; In the expression judge task the accuracy of T2 from the high shyness group was significantly less than the high shyness group when T1 was negative and positive expression.(4) The interaction of the level of shyness and T2 expression property showed significantly, the accuracy of T2 from the high shyness group was significantly greater than the high shyness group when T2 was positive expression.(5) The interaction of T1 expression property and Lag showed significantly in the expression judge task.(6)The interaction of the level of shyness and Lag, T2 expression property and Lag showed significantly.Conclusions:(1) The effect of shyness to the AB effect is related to the T1 task, in other words, The effect of shyness to the AB effect depend on the T1 judge task.(2) The AB effect of the high shyness group is significantly superior to the low shyness group, when T1 are the expressive faces. But if T2 are the expressive faces, the AB effect of the low shyness group is significantly superior to the high shyness group.(3) The AB effect is influenced by both the T1 expression and the T2 expression. Presenting negative and positive expression as the first target (T1) aggravate the detection of the neural expression of the second target (T2). However, participants showed superior detection of the expression of T2, if T2 was negative and positive expression.(4) Participants are vigilant to negative and positive expression. Compared to negative expression, positive expression are more capable to capture high shyness group's attention.(5) The temporal delay between T1 and T2 have significantly effect to AB effect. The AB effect on Lag3 is significantly superior to Lag7. The SOA is the key factor to the AB effect.(6) The effect of T1 expression property to attentional blink depend on the T1 judge task, in which the effect of negative expression to the AB effect is independent on task, but the effect of positive expression to the AB effect is dependent on task.
