As a new concept of positive psychology, personal growth initiative attracts more and more attention by foreign researchers. However, there are few domestic studies on personal growth initiative, which almost none of enterprise staff. In order to make up for the gap, this study explores the applicability of personal growth initiative in China The participants of this study were selected by employees to examine the general characteristics and the effect of influence factors of enterprise staff's personal growth initiative.The study includes two parts of researches:First is examined the reliability and validity of Personal Growth Initiative Scale-?(Chinese Version), and the applicability in Chinese enterprise culture;Second is to adopt revised Personal Growth Initiative Scale-? combined with implementing surveys including matured General Self-efficacy Scale and Work Performance Scale and Job Performance Scale on 478 employees, investigated the basic situations and differences of enterprise staff's personal growth initiative, and analyzed the predictive effect of general self-efficacy and personal growth initiative to work performance, as well as verifying the intermediary role of personal growth initiative in general self-efficacy impact on work performance.The conclusions are as follows:(1) Personal Growth Initiative Scale-? has good reliability and validity, which can be used as research tools to examine personal growth i nitiative;(2) Employee's personal growth initiative shows differences in age and job. The middle-aged employee's initiative of personal growth is higher than the young employee's; the middle manager' initiative of personal growth is higher than senior leader's;(3) There are significant positive correlations among General self-efficacy of employees, personal growth initiative and each dimensions and work performance and each dimensions;(4) Positive predictive effect of person growth initiative to work performance is greater than that of general self-efficacy to work performance;(5) Personal growth initiative plays intermediary role in impact of general self-efficacy to work performance. |
