Abstract/Summary:
This study is aimed to explore picture-book instruction’s influence on the middle-class preschoolers’ emotion understanding. By choosing 60 middle-class preschoolers in two classes randomly, the experimental group and the control group are formed. Each group contains 30 children, half girls and half boys. The picture-book instruction is carried out on the preschoolers in the experimental group once a week, all together 8 times. In the meantime, traditional instruction is carried out on those in the control group. In the end, there will be analysis on the test data of preschoolers’emotion understanding and explanations on the experiment results.Conclusions are as follows:Emotional picture-book reading activities may have a remarkable effect on preschoolers’ emotion understanding, especially on their understanding of mixed emotion, moral emotion and emotion regulation.The study may give certain reference and suggestions to the kindergarten on the carryout of emotional picture-book reading activities. The choice and the application of the emotional picture-books and the design of the related activities may be meaningful for preschool educators.
