Vocational College occupies a very important position in Chinese foreign teaching,and culture textbook is an important basis for cultural teaching.The paper is based on theories of second language teaching and textbook compilation.By using methods of literature research,questionnaire,statistics and comparative analysis,the paper studies the advantages and disadvantages of the major published cultural textbooks for foreigners,the characteristics of Thai cultural teaching and students in vocational college,and students' demands on the content and form of cultural lesson,coming the basic principles of cultural textbook compilation to Thai Vocational College,and then made some specific compiling recommendations,in the hope of providing a reference for compilation of cultural teaching materials and cultural teaching of Thai vocational college.In addition to the introduction and conclusion,the paper is divided into six chapters.The introduction part mainly elaborates the background and significance of the topic,the research situation,object,content and methods,as well as the innovation of the study.The first chapter is the classification and analysis of cultural teaching materials for foreigners.Classifies the current main cultural teaching materials and culture categories they involved from different angles,coming the advantages and disadvantages in compilation.The second chapter mainly introduces the cultural teaching of Thai vocational college.Including the general situation and the characteristics of cultural teaching,and also the problems and causes existing in the use of cultural materials in Thai vocational college.The third chapter designs a survey questionnaire about relevant situations of Chinese culture learning based on the analysis of the first and second chapters.By analyzing nearly 300 questionnaires from students of 9 Thai vocational colleges,students' purposes of learning Chinese culture,attitudes towards Chinese culture lesson,popular learning forms and contents are known.On the basis of the third chapter,the fourth chapter proposes that compile cultural textbooks targeted at Thai vocational college should be based on the theories of learning process,demand analysis,experience learning theory and related compilation theories of second language teaching material such as principles,methods and assessments theories.The paper also puts forward seven principles of compiling,including corresponding,interesting,practical,useful,surface culture,nations and cultural respect.Under the guidance of above theories and principles,the fifth chapter puts forward some concrete suggestions on compilation and designs of cultural teaching materials targeted at Thai Vocational College,makes clear the compilation targets,teaching methods,structure,language,content selection and practice form of teaching materials,and other key issues.The sixth chapter summarizes the characteristics and advantages of this compiling program.The conclusion part summarizes the main content of this paper,as well as the direction of further research in the future.This paper absorbs the advantages of previous textbook compilation,and innovates in design ideas,design methods,design principles and teaching modes.The design of culture teaching materials which is suitable for such a special education system from a practical point of view is helpful to solve the problems existing in culture teaching of Thai vocational college.
