The Study Of The Polysyllabic Words And The Compilation Of The Dictionaries In "Killing Dogs"

“Sha Gou Ji” is one of the Southern Opera in the Early Ming Dynasty. It keeps a lot of words which can reflect the spoken language in Morden Chinese Period. It is the important corpus of researching morden Chinese vocabulary. This paper is going to take the polysyllabic words in this book as the research subject. Through the judgment standards of formulating polysyllabic words, to spate the polysyllabic words and do a statistic of the frequency of a single polysyllabic word, and then analyze its structure, and finally to conclude the major features. Besides, we intend to correct and improve The Great Dictionary of Chinese by using the polysyllabic words in this book.This article consists four chapters.In the first part, firstly, I mainly introduce “Sha Gou Ji” from the stage of history of Chinese language history,language features and research status, and then introduce the main content, the author and vertion. Based on it, I will define the demarcations of polysyllabic words in this book as well as the research method.The second part will divide the polysyllabic words of “Sha Gou Ji” so as to classify them according to the demarcations and make clear of its quantity and the frequency of a single polysyllabic word, analyzing its structure. Meanwhile the lexical features of “Sha Gou Ji” will be concluded in this part.In the third part, according to the polysyllabic words in this book, we would like to correct and improve The Great Dictionary of Chinese from replenishing entries and documentary evidences, and advancing documentary evidences.Finally, we make a summary and put forward some in-depth thinking based on the research.
