Flexibility is one of the basic capacities for a dancer. The development of flexibility would affect the improvement of the other capacities, such as strength, speed, agility and endurance. [Aim]compare the training effects of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation(PNF) with traditional flexibility training approach in professional dance training area, and find out the efficiency of PNF for the flexibility of hip joint. [Participant] twelve male dancers(age: 11-12) are first year student in the affiliated school of Beijing Dance Academy. [Method] use training experiments to compare the group diffrences. The participants are randomly divided into two groups, the PNF group using PNF approach and the control group using traditional approach to develop hip flexibility. [Result] after eight weeks training intervention that three times for a week and each training session last approximately 45 min, the PNF group increase the hip joint flexibility significantly than the control group.
