Painter Rembrandt is one of the representatives of the European realistic art, but also an important figure in 17th-century Dutch painting, known as the greatest Dutch painters. Rembrandt left about 300 pieces of copper engraving works,during his lifetime and after the death of more than a century, the impact and spread of his eclipse prints becomes wider than his paintings and sketches, these prints spread in Europe, so Rembrandt won more reputation. This paper attempts to take the case study methods, literature study methods, observation study methods, taking into account other studies such as comparative research methods and survey research methods, art history study methods will also be used,such as image study methods, sociology study methods and some stylistics study methods.The article focuses on the artistic characteristics of copper paintings of Rembrandt and his place in the history of printmaking and his innovation in Printmaking. Through the above researchs, paper attempts to pry the 17th century social history, culture and art development in the Netherlands, to understand the characteristics of Rembrandt and his art, and to understand the development process of etchings and find its exceptional artistic value and aesthetic features.The paper can not only enrich theoretical knowledge, but also bring inspiration and direction for the painting artist's and copperplate painter.
