Talking About The Meridian Acupuncture Method In Chinese Urban Sculpture Planning

The Nowadays, city sculpture planning has been a prominent issue ever in China for builders, planners of cities, creators and participants of the urban public art. We have to continue to reconsider this important issue, for one thing, study for relations between city sculpture and public space has developed to an unpredictable free, multi-plural and multi-dimensional phase; for another thing, as world culture has been assimilated, the process of urbanization has been developed, the people's demand for spiritual civilization has been increased and the national culture strategy has been put forwarded, we have an increasing demand to perfect ideology and conception of city sculpture planning.Compared with successful examples such as San Francisco, Singapore and Paris, city sculpture planning in China is still in the primary stage both in practice and in ideology. There are many issues in the theoretical research and in practice including we are weak in the study of ideology of city sculpture planning, many people are inappropriate to adapt city planning theory to city sculpture planning, they don't have prospective and systemic conception of city sculpture planning, times spirit, public space and the relationship between the public life, but there are more opportunities opening to us at the same times.The article explores the successful paradigms of city sculpture planning all the round the world, author's ideals come from an oriented philosophy idea of "Harmonious Relations between Haven and Human Beings" and a western idea of "Eco-City". He thinks of city as an ecological system or even as a human body, he expounds his ideals based on meridians and acupuncture theory from Chinese Medicine and urban sculpture planning case in China, he means to find a new way to study city sculpture planning both in ideology and in practice.
