On The Consciousness Of Life In Jiayu's Novels

Albert Camus is one of the leading figures of France philosophy and literature in 20 th century. He is an existentialism literature master as important as Sartre. He expressed deep experience to the plight of human existence and the unique thinking of life in literary creation in the turbulent era. His literature expresses the characteristics of modern people's instinctive life consciousness and cultural life consciousness. His novels contained a strong and sincere life consciousness. This paper chooses to study Camus' novels from the view of life consciousness. It mainly based on the following two considerations: one is the academic study on Camus' novels are often limited in two themes "absurdity", "resistance", ignored the more important life consciousness in Camus' novels. The second is from the practical aspect. At the present, people exceedingly emphasized the material life led to the poverty of spiritual life, and the commercialization of literature and art is serious. At the moment, going back to Camus' literary world has a very important practical value to construct people's spirit world and shape positive viewpoint on life. This paper attempts to study Camus' life consciousness in his novels. On the one hand, in the era with consumerism, in the original meaning, confirming the literature that is pays close attention to life and expresses the life. On the other hand, for trying to find a way can make the contemporary novel writing full of life consciousness, and to build a stable spiritual home for our life.This paper is divided into three parts: introduction, body(three chapters) and conclusion.The structure of the paper is as follows.Section1, the introduction part first elaborates the background and significance of the paper's topic, including the theoretical and practical significance and theoretically defines the research view of life consciousness. Section2, this part summarizes the domestic and foreign academic articles which research on Camus' thinking and works, and analyzed the relevant books and papers which researched on the life consciousness in Camus' novels. Section3, this part makes a simple introduction of the research view(life consciousness), and briefly states the innovative methods of this paper. Finally illustrates the innovation of this paper.Second, the main part of the thesis mainly consists of the following three chapters.The first chapter specifically describes the specific performance of the life consciousness in Camus' novels which on the basis of intensive reading of the text. In the first section, “The performance of instinctive life consciousness”, this section discusses the instinctive life consciousness of pursuing the freedom of the secular life, and advocating harmonious coexistence between man and nature in Camus' novels, by means of analyses the performance of primitive life passion and the original physical sensation two aspects in Camus' novels. Section II, “The performance of the cultural life consciousness”, this section discusses the cultural life consciousness of revolting Christian morality and the rationale of history, and pursuing a spiritual home that equality and harmonious in Camus' novels, from three aspects including the tragic consciousness of life, the resistant consciousness of life, and the home consciousness of life.The second chapter mainly analyzes the cause of formation of life consciousness in Camus' novels. In the first section, “The influence of poverty and disease”, discusses the influence of poor life experience and disease physiological experience with the instinctive life consciousness in Camus' novels. Section II, “The influence of western modern philosophy of life”, discusses the influence of western modern philosophy of life on the cultural life consciousness in Camus' novels. In third section, “The influence of the traditional life viewpoint of the Mediterranean”, discusses the influence of the traditional life viewpoint of the Mediterranean on the cultural life consciousness in Camus' novels.The third chapter discusses the enlightenment to the contemporary novels of the life consciousness in Camus' novels. The first chapter, “The enlightenment of instinctive life consciousness”, discusses it is the expression of instinctive life consciousness that made Camus' novels have vivid character. It enlightens the contemporary Chinese novelist to express the unique instinctive life consciousness from the real life experience. Section II, “The enlightenment of cultural life consciousness”, discusses it is the expression of cultural life consciousness that made Camus' novels have philosophical character. It enlightens the contemporary Chinese novelist to pay more attention to introspect and criticize our culture, and express the unique cultural life consciousness.Third, the conclusion part briefly summarizes the signification of researching on the life consciousness in Camus' novels, and analyses the limitations of life consciousness in Camus' novels.
