As the origin of European music, as well as an important part in the music field, Religious music possess an unique ?graceful and catching form of art. It enlarge the way of music art expressions and deeply influnced other form of art. We can also trace the religious influnces in Liszt's piano music. Affected by his family an social circumstance, Liszt grew to be a good christian. He invested his religious views in the music composition,and devote his whole life to reform the religious music. Liszt fulfilled and developed his religious views as inspired by the religious activities, and put the religious influnces into his music,such as "the harmony of poetry and religion", "engagement"(piano divertimento "travel time"), the clock of Geneva, "Dante sonata"(on the divine comedy with Dante), etc. Through out his life in art, liszt hold solid religious feeling in music writing. Religious elements is the bedstone of his art career. This article viewed the religious elements in Liszt's music and the origin of his religious feeling and the influnce he give to the later generation by analysing the western religious music. Hope this article could be helpful to make a good unerstanding of Liszt music, and help the people perform better in teaching and play Liszt music, and to offer more elements for music studing and researching.
