Research On The Cultural Implication Of Taiwan's "civil Song Movement"

Since the mid-1970s to the early1980s, the'folk music movement'that swept across Taiwan has marked the start of modern Taiwanese to'sing their own song'. It has not only laid the basis of the radiation of the Taiwan popular music culture as the'leading locomotive'to the entire Chinese cultural circle, but also been a product of various transformations in political, social, cultural, and economic etc. areas. It demonstrates the concentrated history of the generation to sing for individuality and against hegemony. This article focused on the song works of the'folk music movement'produced between1975and1984, aiming at exploring the meaning, content and influence behind these songs with the approach of lyrics text mining. The discussions on the'folk music movement'has been divided into three parts:first, a glimpse of the Taiwanese music atmosphere was obtained from the pre-movement'hybrid'cultural landscape, under the influence of which saw the unique charm of the'cross-border mix and match'lying in contemporary Taiwan folk songs; second, three routes of contemporary folk songs were taken in order to discuss the development of songwriting, from the'sleeping awakening'to 'holding high the banner'and then to'moving forward and apart with conflicts'. The characteristics of the language style of the folk song works were analyzed and appreciated from the literary point of view. Emphasis was placed on the categorization and research in four phases of folk music styles:'roots','poetry''ballad', and'reality'. Third, the influence of the lyrics culture formed through the'folk music movement'was observed from areas of politics, music, and culture. The backdrop of the era was restored through the texts analysis. The spreading value of the'folk music movement'was summarized.
