The Theoretical Discussion And Clinical Application Of Five-line Acupuncture And Moxibustion From "God" To Treat Skin Diseases

Objective:This paper discusses the theoretical origin of treating skin diseases diseases from "Shen",and the application of Five Element Acupuncture from "Shen" on skin diseases.Method:The modern literature regarding the meaning of "Shen" in Huangdi Neijing was retrieved in CNKI.The theory of mind-skin connection in ancient books was retrieved from"Chinese Medical Classics",and clinical researches on the relationship between skin diseases such as eczema and the "Shen" were retrieved in CNKI.The academic thought of the Five Element Acupuncture was systemically arranged from five categories:the origin of Five Element Acupuncture,the core concept of Five Element Acupuncture,acupuncture points,the diagnosis of the guardian element and the treatment method.Then,the paper summarizes the theoretical basis of diagnosis and treatment of Five Element Acupuncture.Searching for clinical research literature by using Five Element Acupuncture in CNKI.Result:The word "Shen" appears many times in the Huangdi Neijing,however,despite the same word is used,but the meaning of "Shen" is different in different contexts.According to modern literature,the connotation of "Shen" recorded in the Huangdi Neijing is mainly divided into five kinds,including the Shen of nature,the Shen of the broad sense,the Shen of the narrow sense,the Shen of shaman and the Shen of other meaning.The occurrence and development of skin diseases such as eczema are closely related to the imbalance of mind.The theory of the Five Element Acupuncture was derived from the Huangdi Neijing.The Five Element Acupuncture is a needle method with the core of five behavior,dividing people into five types of Wood,Fire,Earth,Mental and Water.It emphasizes the diagnosis of the guardian element.The basis of diagnosis is mainly according to the unique sound,color,smell and emotion of each person.Five Element Acupuncture emphasizes treating the whole-body,mind and spirit,it concerns the underlying cause behind symptoms.Besides,the requirements for environment,patients and therapists is demanding.According to the existing clinical data,the Five Element Acupuncture therapy had a good effect on mental distress and mental disorder.Conclusion:The occurrence and development of skin diseases are closely related to the imbalance of spirit.Five Element Acupuncture can treat skin diseases through "Cure Shen".
