Background:Delactation is a problem that every parturient will encounter. The failure of delactation might lead to acute mastitis in less serious cases, while causing galactorrhea from purulent cavity rupture in severer cases, and even affects future breast state which could have potential risks. There are mainly two ways of delactation:natural and artificial delactation.Natural delectation could be applied to those who have been lactating for 1?2 years, while artificial delactation is fit for those who only have less than 10 months of lactation due to illnesses or some other special reason.Nowadays, with higher quality of life, adequate nutrition results in large quantities of breast milk.In the case that breast milk is too much to be stopped in the way of natural delectation, artificial delectation will also be used. There are many ways of artificial delectation, such as taking western medicine or traditional Chinese medicine orally, topical administration and receiving acupuncture. The clinical use of bromocriptine,a commonly used oral western medicine,is controversial because of its significant side effect despite of the fact that it was proven effective clinically in terms of delectation.Meanwhile, the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine was also shown in this regard. My tutor, professor Zhu Dong Sheng, made Hui Ru Formula for delactation based on the traditional medical theory after many years of clinical experience. Objective:By observing the trend in the change of daily lactation volume of a parturient, the time for the delactation to occur and its adverse reactions with Hui Ru Formula as the treatment group and bromocriptine as the control group, evaluate the clinical curative effect of Hui Ru Formula and provide reasonable suggestions for current clinical treatment of delactation. Methods:From April,2017 to January,2018,40 patients were admitted to the breast department of our hospital and met the inclusion criteria of this research. The patients were randomly divided into the treatment group(Hui Ru Formula)and the control group(bromocriptine)and took the two kinds of medicine orally for 14 days consecutively. The patients' daily lactation volume and breast milk discharge frequency were recorded before the treatment,on the third, seventh and 14th day of the treatment. The researchers observed how long it will take for the delactation to occur and the occurrence of adverse reactions. The curative effect was compared with the control group and then the results were analyzed and summarized.Results:1.After 14 days of treatment,8 patients successfully returned to breast milk, and 11 showed efficacy. The success rate of delactation was 42.1%,and the total effective rate was 100%.Within the control group 15 patients successfully returned to breast milk, and 4 showed efficacy. The success rate of delactation was 78.9%,and the total effective rate was 100%,The success rate difference was statistically significant. It can be recognized that the curative effect of bromocriptine is superior to that of Hui Ru Formula.2.The average the time for the delactation to occur for the treatment group was 16.6 days, while for the control group it was 13.1 days. The difference was statistically significant, and the advantages of the bromocriptine were obvious in shortening the time of delactation. No rebound lactation was found in either groups.3.Both groups showed some degree of efficacy in terms of reducing daily lactation volume and breast milk discharge frequency. The daily lactation volume obviously decreased faster for the control group than the treatment group in the first three days of experiment. The amount of lactation in the third day of treatment showed an obvious change for the control group, while the treatment group showed a stable speed of reduction in the amount of lactation in the beginning and middle parts of the experiment.4.There were no complications in either groups, but the adverse reactions occurred in different degrees in both groups. The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group.Conclusion:1.The curative effect of Hui Ru Formula was positive since the effective rate was 100.00%,and the rate of successfully returning to breast milk was 42.1%in the treatment cycle, and the time for the delactation to occur was 16.6 days on average.2.The curative effect of Hui Ru Formula can be stable and slow when compared with bromocriptine.Hui Ru Formula can reduce the daily lactation volume gradually, and the period of delactation for patients is longer than that of the bromocriptine.3.The incidence of adverse reactions in the treatment group was significantly lower than that in the control group. In this study,it is recognized that the Hui Ru Formula is an clinically effective drug, which can be one of the alternatives for the treatment of patients with bromocriptine taboo or the non-tolerance of bromocriptine.
