Aiming to Study on the Diagnosis and Treatment Theories of Pediatric Fever on both the Ancient and Modern literatures overall and systemically,this article has selected the most representative Pediatric monographs(including Comprehensive Medical Books and Prescription Books that have Pediatric Fever content)from the Eastern Han Dynasty(in which Nei Jing was finished)to Ming and Qing Dynasties as preferences,the research methods it used are all about Philology and Theories of TCM.Firstly,research in the “possible” booklist and find out the books that include “Pediatric Fa Re Men” and “Pediatric Fever Symptom”,then pick them up and put them into the final list;Secondly,read the certain contents on the books in the final list in historical order and sort them out into several parts: Names of Diseases,Etiology and Pathogenesis,Treatments based on differentiation of symptoms and signs,Differential diagnosis,The Therapeutic Principle and Special Cares,clarify the connotation of each parts and the developmental headstream of each one.Thirdly,compare and study the understandings toward Etiology and Pathogenesis & Therapeutic Principle of Medical Experts in different Dynasties and make conclusions listed below:1.Sorted out 9 Disease Names related to Pediatric Fever from Literature of Ancient Chinese Medicine: Hectic Fever,High Fever,Warming Heat,Dysphoria with Smothery Sensation,Heat Accumulation,Hectic Fever due to Yin Deficiency,Alternating Heat and Cold,Fever(of child)Accompanied by Fear and Night Fever.2.Sorted out 12 Etiological terms of Pediatric Fever from Literature of Ancient Chinese Medicine: Pathogenic wind,Pathogenic cold,Pathogenic wind and cold,Pathogenic wind and heat,Summer-heat,Excessive warm and heat in a certain Chinese Solar Terms,Dyspepsia,Been scared,Fetal fever,Infantile fever caused by unbalanced diet and emotional disorder of lactating women,Mistreatment,Fever due to uncured diseases in the past.3.Sorted out 9 Pathogenetic terms of Pediatric Fever from Literature of Ancient Chinese Medicine,which can be divided into 2 main categories: Excess Fever and Deficiency Fever.The former one includes :Depression of Yang-Qi due to affection by exopathogenic Wind and Cold,Summer-heat invasion of the body,Fever due to the Five Internal Organs,Fever due to Dyspepsia,Heat generated by sudden shock and The Pathogenesis of Shao-Yang.The latter one includes: Fever due to Qi-deficiency and Yang-floating,Inter fever due to pathogenic heat damaging Yin,Pathogenic heat invading the body due to the weak condition after illness.4.Sorted out 13 terms in total of Therapeutic Principles and methods from Literature of Ancient Chinese medicine,Therapeutic Principles include: to treat the Excess Fever by dispersing or purgation,to treat the Deficiency Fever by using adjusting and tonifying methods,Consolidating Promordial-Qi then eliminating Pathogenic factors,Adhering to the “moderate principle”,Give treatments both to the mother and the child if the child is on lactation period.Therapeutic methods include: Relieving superficies method,Heat-cleaning method,Puration,Adjusting and tonifying method,Tonifying Qi and Blood,Nourishing Yin and Supplementing Blood,Reconciliation method and External treatment.
