Background and objective:Functional dyspepsia(FD)was a common clinical digestive system disease.Chinese medicine and more of this disease will be attributed to"gasteremphraxis","epigastric pain" and other areas. The current efficacy of Western medicine lackedthe specificity and selectivity, but traditional Chinese medicine utilized differentiation and treatment of individualized treatment program, which had achieved good clinical efficacy.Although the mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine was not yet clear,it was difficult to be widely recognized. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Banxia Xiexin Decoction on visceral sensitivity and psychological status of patients with FD syndrome, and to explore its possible mechanism of action. The application of Banxia Xiexin Decoction would be further promoted in the treatment of FD.Method:In this study, randomized controlled trials were used to research the selection of 65 cases of outpatient functional dyspepsia and fever syndrome from March 2016 to December 2016,which were included in the Digestion Center of Beijing Chinese Medicine Hospital of the Capital Medical University. The treatment group was treated with 44 patients. The control group includes 21 cases.Treatment group took the traditional Chinese medicine Granule granules of Banxia Xiexie Decoction(Rhizoma pinelliae Preparata 10g,Scutellaria baicalensis 10g,Coptis chinensis 5g,Dried ginger 10g,Codonopsis pilosula 15g,raw Licorice 5g,Ginger and Magnolia officinalis 10g,fried herbal leaven 15g,blood clam shell 30g).Daily 1 pack recipe particles mixed 300ml water, which separately administered, with a dosage of about 150ml before meals. The controls were administered placebos. The administering was 7d as a course, with a total of four courses, and an observation period is of 28 days. Before and after 14 and 28 days of treatment for patients,TCM syndrome scoring and western medicine symptoms were assessed. The observations and evaluations were conducted on such observatory indicators as the patients' water load tests and anxiety depression self-rating scale. The comparisons between the two groups before and after treatment in the observation of the differences wereperformed. All data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 software. Results:With the elimination of 5 cases which fell off due to the loss of follow-ups,clinical observations were completed on a total of 65 cases, among which 44 cases in the treatment group and 21 in the controls.Evaluations and comparisons of the clinical observations were performed:1.Evaluations of visceral sensitivity:28d upon treatments, the water drinking quantity threshold of the treatment group was significantly higher than that before treatment(P<0.05).Before and after treatments, the various indicators of the controls had no substantial improvements(P<0.05).However,regarding the various indicators of water load of the treatment group and of the controls, whose differences had no statistical significance(P<0.05).2.Evaluation of psychological factors:28d upon treatments, there were substantial improvements in the scores of the anxiety depression self-rating scale(P<0.05).For the controls, the comparisons of the anxiety depression self-rating scales with those prior to the treatments also featured statistical significance(P<0.05);however,the intra-group differences had no statistical significance(P<0.05).3.The scoring of TCM symptoms:28d upon treatments, with the exception of short and yellowish urine, the treatment group had more substantial improvements in the various TCM symptoms than before(P<0.05).For the controls, there were all improvements in the comparisons of the TCM symptoms before and after the treatments with the exceptions of short and yellowish urine and thin stool,(P<0.05).Between the treatment group and the controls, with the exceptions of such symptoms as chest stuffiness, heaviness and fatigue, short and yellowish urine and thin and loose stool, the variations in the scores of the rest of the symptoms before and after the treatments all had statistical significance(P<0.05).4.The scoring of western medicine symptoms:28d upon treatments, the treatment group had substantial improvements in the various western symptoms(P<0.05).For the controls, there were improvements in the other various symptoms(P<0.05)with the exceptions of the burning sensations in the upper abdomen. The variations in the scores of the western medicine symptoms in the treatment group and the controls all featured statistical significance(P<0.05).The variables for the integral assessment of the western medicine in the treatment group were all substantially lower than the controls,i.e.,the treatment group was substantially superior to the controls regarding the various variants of western medicine. Conclusion:Banxia Xiexin Decoction can improve the visceral sensitivity and adverse emotions of FD patients, which may be the potential mechanism to improve the clinical symptoms of FD in Western medicine.
