Objective The aim of the research is to elaborate the possible mechanism of xueyaping capsule to treat the hypertension from the perspective of inflammatory responses and cell signals,it is basis of researching the effects of NF-?B and its related downstream factors on myocardial in spontaneously hypertensive rats(SHR).It aslo provides a solid theory for the traditional Chinese medicine to treat the hypertension.Methods The experiment was started after 7 weeks age of 40 rats were adaptively fed for a week.Among 30 SHR were randomly divided into model control group,xueyaping group and enalapri group,each group had 10.10 WKY rats as normal control group.Since the first day of experiment,xueyaping group and enalapri group were given the corresponding drugs respectively third a day and twice a day in 8 weeks,the rest of the two groups in amount of distilled water to fill the stomach.And each group was measured the blood pressure every weekend.Left ventricular mass(LVM)were weighed and left ventricular mass index(LVMI)were calculated after 8 weeks,then to detect the protein expression level of NF-?B by taking Western-blot method and inflammatory cytokines concentration of IL-18,MCP-1,IFN-? by taking ELISA method.Results(1)Systolic blood pressure:the trend of blood pressure decreasing of xueyaping group is similiar to enalapri group,there is no difference between the groups(P>0.05).(2)LVM?LVMI: both enalapri group and xueyaping groug were decreased(P>0.05).(3)Level of NF-?B: both enalapri group and xueyaping groug were decreased,but the xueyaping group was lower(P<0.05).(4)Concentration of IL-18,MCP-1,IFN-?:concentration of IL-18,MCP-1 of both enalapri group and xueyaping groug were decreased,however,xueyaping group was obvious lower(P<0.01);concentration of IFN-? of both enalapri group and xueyaping groug were increased,nevertheless,xueyaping group was obvious higher(P<0.01).Conclusion Xueyaping capsule can restrain the level of NF-?B signal pathway,so as to regulate the concerntration of downstream inflammatory cytokines,which may be one of the mechanisms of reducing the blood pressure effectively and reversing the left ventricular hypertrophy.It is also demonstrated the action of the drug in the treatment of hypertension from the inflammtory angel.
